Transportation| INFRASTRUCTURE

Affordable and accessible transportation is key to moving San Antonio forward as a healthy and modern city. We must support expanding bus routes and frequency to ensure San Antonians can move efficiently while also improving congestion and air quality. It is essential we commit to keeping fares affordable for all while improving lighting near transportation stops. It is important we center the needs of those who depend on public transportation the most when crafting transportation plans. Creative methods of funding modern multimodal means of transportation must be identified in order to ensure new projects do not fall on the working people of San Antonio. We must continue to improve and expand connectivity with our Linear Creekways and bike lanes as they serve as safe and healthy transportation systems. Projects must be prioritized based on community need and citizen support in order to improve the effectiveness of public dollars. Identifying funding via bonds, budget and exploring innovative funding source will be pivotal for moving San Antonio's transportation systems forward.

 Together with community, we have:

  • Completed over 331 infrastructure projects totaling $16 Million in vital projects
  • Doubled funding for the Neighborhood Access Mobility Program from $219,000 to $450,000
  • Secured an additional sidewalk crew to ensure we can keep up and work efficiently
  • Secured over $34.6 Million for District 5 drainage

Together with community, we will:

  • Improve infrastructure before increasing traffic to ensure safety
  • Advance citizen driven multimodal transportation systems
  • Identify creative funding for public transportation
